I work at a vet hospital in nixa missouri, and while working there we encounter a lot of diffrent people all around the area. My job there is to clean kennels, walk dogs, clean the whole hospital AND sometimes I work upfront with the public. Well on one particular afternoon a woman came in with a cat. Now this was no ordinary woman and this was no ordinary cat. Both matched eachother completley. The gal looked to be in her forties or fithties and the cat was around 16 years old. The woman, lets call her the crazy cat lady, decided she needed to make an appointment for her cat because the poor animal had not eaten for a couple days. She came in around 4:30 that afternoon, mind you we close at 6 and stop seeing people at 5. Anyways so the woman comes in, looking extreamly distrought caring her cat which is growling and hissing the entire time i'm checking her in. I lead her back into the room and let her know the doctor will be with her shrotley.
By now this woman has been in the exam room for about 10 minutes now with the vet. Dr.MCclure has run some blood tests on the cat and found out it has pancreatic cancer. Now this can sometimes be cured but most of the time its very unlikely, especially in an older animal. Dr.McClure proceeds into the exam room to inform the crazy cat woman of her kitty's new illness. As the doctor says, "I'm sorry crazy cat lady but your cat has pancreatic cancer" the woman proceeds with her screaming and sobbing comment. "OH NOOOO! My cat has diabetes... how could this be! She's going to die of it. I'm such a horrible pet owner." The cat lady continues on this rat for about a minute until the doctor interrupts and and says "No mam you cat has pancreatic cancer, NOT diabetes. She will be fine for now but we need to send you home with some medicine. I'm sorry if my statement was unclear".
